Jim Becker, Middleburgh Telephone Company / ION LLC.

Jim is 4th generation in the family that owns the 115 year-old Middleburgh Telephone Company, located in Middleburgh, NY.  Jim led Middleburgh Tel’s entry into the Long Distance, Internet-Broadband, and Cable TV businesses in the 1990’s, and is currently the company’s President.

In addition to his Middleburgh Tel duties, Jim founded and is President of INOC, a consortium of four Independent Telephone Companies located in Albany that provides Internet backbone and datacenter related services to ISP’s, CLEC’s, and businesses throughout the Northeast.

In 2006, Jim took on the responsibility of serving as CEO-President of ION Holdco, a 2000-mile long haul fiber network throughout NY State.  Upon completion of its $49M ARRA grant, ION will have a 3000+ mile fiber network, providing robust and diversely routed services to carriers, cellular companies, service providers, community institutions, and medium to large businesses.

Jim serves on various boards inside and outside of the telecommunications industry, which currently includes being the Chairman of the New York State Telecommunications Association.

Jim graduated from Clarkson University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and enjoys spending time with his young family and racing stock cars.

David Wolf, Development Authority of the North Country (DANC)

David Wolf is the Telecom Division Manager for the Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) where he is responsible for the daily operations of the telecommunications network. Mr. Wolf has more than 25 years of telecom network experience in a variety of executive management and engineering roles.  Prior experience includes the Chief Operating Officer for Patient Portal Connect, Inc., Chief Technology Officer at Telergy, and a variety of engineering and management roles at Verizon.

Mr. Wolf received his Bachelors of Technology degree in chemical engineering from the University of Dayton, and graduated with honors from Chapman Universities MBA program.  Mr. Wolf was also an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and SUNY IT.
