A Little More About Cindy Hammecker-McLean
Cindy Hammecker-McLean's has over 25 years of experience working in the field of occupational therapy. Her primary clinical background is in working with adults with neurological impairments with a special interest and practice focus on adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and strokes. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings including in-patient, outpatient, community re-entry and return-to-work capacities. She also developed and ran a neurological disabilities support group in the North Country. Cindy Hammecker-McLean has teaching experience from posts at SUNY Canton where she served as instructor/academic fieldwork coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program for 10 years and interim program director for two years. Cindy Hammecker-McLean has presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) annual conference on the NUDIST software program for analyzing qualitative data and on the role of awareness in traumatic brain injury recovery. She is a past member of the Roster of Accreditation Evaluators through AOTA’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, which is the accrediting agency for occupational therapy education.
