To be an exchange student at Clarkson University, you must be currently enrolled at one of our exchange partner institutions as a full-time student.  Our partner universities’ International Offices nominate students to come to Clarkson University.  List of Partner Universities  You will then complete the application process for exchange students below. 

Fall Semester (late August – mid December) – Application Deadline May 1
Spring Semester (early January – early May) – Application Deadline October 1

Academic Calendar

Course/Class Search by Course/Term   Classes may be taken across disciplines here at Clarkson. Students will need to maintain some flexibility in their class selections. When choosing classes, we ask that student sprovide a list of their top choices, as well as a list of alternates.  We will doour best to ensure that exchange students are able to take the classes they need while at CU.

The application is submitted through our CU Global Portal.  Go to Incoming Students Register Here tab at the top of the screen.  

Application materials which need to be completed and attached to the application(links are provided in the application): 

  • English Language Proficiency Form
  • Copy of your most recent transcript (with all classes taken with grades)
  • Copy of your passport information page (photo page)
  • Certification of Finances Form with supporting financial documentation for visa processing

Application Acceptance

We process applications as we receive them and will forward acceptance letters with your visa paperwork. The office of International Student & Scholar Services will process your visa paperwork. Together these documents along with others from your university will be mailed to International Office at your university. 

Once you are accepted – you will receive an email with a username & password for your PeopleSoft account. PeopleSoft is our student database where you can view your class schedule, view financial transactions, have the ability to purchase books and much more.  Additionally, you will be assigned a "To Do List" within PeopleSoft.  This is where you will complete your Housing Contract, Health Documents, Submit a photo for your student identification card, and more.
