Study Abroad Program Timeline

Fall 2017 – Spring 2018  

Research the programs available for studying abroad for a semester. 

  • Go to our CU Global portal to search programs currently available.  Without logging into the system you can Search Programs available. 
  • TRAVEL TUESDAYS – Learn More about Exchange Universities each Tuesday (September 6 – December 3) at NOON.  Link to Study Abroad Events Fall 2016 
  • Study Abroad Fair – October 3rd – 5:30 - 7 pm – Student Center, 2nd Floor

Learn about the programs from the people who have been there! 

  • Study Abroad 101 (must attend one meeting – 30 - 45 minutes long)

October 26 – October 30 – Advisement Period with your Academic Advisor

  • Discuss classes for next semesters and be sure a study abroad aligns with your plans
  • Find ways to maximize flexibility in your schedule (how many electives to you have to take?)
  • Link to classes previously approved at programs abroad

Individual Meetings – We meet with students individually to ensure that they have completed the research on their top program and the program is the best fit for the student.

Decision Letters – Students are notified of the program they have been accepted to prior to Spring Break. 

Students selected for the Fall semester will:

  • Begin the application process for the program abroad.  Deadlines and procedures for the partner applications vary by university.
  • Attend the pre-departure meeting in April

Students selected for the Spring semester will:

  • Begin the application process for the program abroad during the summer and fall.  Deadlines and procedures for the partner applications vary by university.
  • Attend the pre-departure meeting in November
