Cynthia Dowd Greene graduated from Clarkson in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. She began her career as a research engineer with General Foods and has held positions of increasing responsibility with Stauffer Chemical Company, and now Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, where she has been an area sales manager, director of bio/chem sales, and senior director of supply management. She is currently the senior director of franchise development for the Oncology/Immunology Division. Cindy received a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut in 1983.

Cindy's professional, civic and charitable involvement includes the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Girls Incorporated of Central New York, where she has served as a board member, and in various committee and chair positions with the First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Cindy has always given generously of her time to support Clarkson and the Alumni Association. She returned to campus as a speaker for the Summer College Orientation Program in Engineering and Science, and for other student programs sponsored by the Career Development Center. Additionally, Cindy has been a member of the board of directors for the Alumni Association Central New York Chapter and has assisted in organizing events for Syracuse alumni. She has served as a phonathon chair, a participant in class reunion activities, and assists the Admission Office with the recruitment of new students by helping with telephone contacts and by attending Syracuse-area College Fairs and student-parent receptions to represent Clarkson. For this she was presented the Alumni Admission Recognition Award in 1993. She served the Alumni National Executive Council as a member-at-large for two years and as a vice president for three years, also chairing the Nominations and Awards Committee during that period. Cindy represented the Alumni Association as a member of the University Centennial Committee and became the first woman to serve as president of the Clarkson Alumni Association, completing her term in 1996.

It is with great pride that we honor Cynthia Dowd Greene as this year's recipient of the Clarkson Alumni Association Woodstock Award for young alumni achievement.
