POTSDAM, N.Y. -- KeyBank has generously granted Clarkson University $100,000 in support of the "Campaign for Clarkson."  KeyBank Senior Vice President Martin P. Schatz recently made a check presentation of the first installment at the construction site of Clarkson's $14-million New Academic Building that will house the Clarkson schools of Business and Liberal Arts by fall 2000.keybank

In recognition of this investment in Clarkson's future, the University has designated one of the new building's state-of-the-art teaching facilities "The KeyBank Seminar Room."  This facility will be part of the new Shipley Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship that serves all students on campus. Strong synergies will be created among this Center and two other academic focused initiatives --  the Center for Excellence in Communication and a Center for Global Competitiveness -- also located in the New Academic Building.

The University is in the midst of a $70 million multi-faceted fundraising campaign that includes construction projects, scholarship assistance and academic excellence initiatives.

"With the loyal support of KeyBank, Clarkson comes another step closer to fulfilling a priority goal to move to the 'hill campus,' consolidating curriculum, students and faculty in one location," said James Manaro, vice president for Business and Financial Affairs.

Clarkson University, located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, has an enrollment of 2,749 students studying engineering, business, science and liberal arts in undergraduate and graduate programs.
