Professor Ian Suni Receives Clarkson University John W. Graham Faculty Research Award

Clarkson University Chemical Engineering Professor Ian I. Suni of Potsdam was recently awarded the John W. Graham Jr. Faculty Research Award during Clarkson University’s 106th Commencement Ceremony in Potsdam, N.Y.  This $1,500 research account is presented annually to “a faculty member who has shown promise in engineering, management, liberal studies or scientific research.”suni

Suni, an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, has been at Clarkson since 1993.  Before that, he served as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois.  His research interests include electro- and electroless deposition of noble metals; contamination arising during wet cleaning of silicon wafers; transport aspects of electrodeposition and corrosion; hypermedia development and assessment; and molecular dynamics simulations of transport.

Awards and honors which Dr. Suni has received include the Professor of the Year Award from the Delta Chapter of Omega Chi Epsilon.  He has also received research grants and contracts from the National Science Foundation.  Dr. Suni earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at Harvard University and his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.
