U.S. News: Clarkson One Of Nation's Best Universities And Best Engineering Program

Clarkson University is once again among the nation's Best National Universities and has one of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges 2001.

U.S. News listed Clarkson as one of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools whose highest degree is a Ph.D.

“Over the years Clarkson has consistently ranked among the top schools in this guide and others,” said Clarkson President Denny Brown, “but such surveys are just one measure of any institution’s quality. At Clarkson, we pay much more attention to the actual value that our education delivers to students and to employers.

“Clarkson students learn through experience. They benefit from a rigorous curriculum that integrates engineering, science, business and liberal arts. And we measure our quality as a university by how well we deliver the skills and experiences our students need to lead rewarding careers.“

In determining the Best Colleges, U.S. News categorized more than 1,300 accredited four-year institutions placing Clarkson in the category of 228 "National Universities." Within this elite category, Clarkson is placed in the top half. Among the schools in that tier, Clarkson ranks eighth in the percentage of alumni giving.

“Clarkson graduates appreciate the hands-on education they received in the collaborative Clarkson culture,” says Brown. “As alumni they continue to drive innovation at Clarkson through their involvement and support.”

Clarkson University has 2,900 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and in its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program. Find out more about Clarkson at
