Clarkson Professor, Associate Research Director To Address Technical Writing Conference In Denver Mar. 14

Clarkson University Technical Communications Assistant Professor Brenton D. Faber and Associate Director of Research Rebecca J. Sutcliffe, both of Potsdam, have been asked to speak at this year's Association of Teachers of Technical Writing conference in Denver on March 14.

Faber will address how a growing number of corporate universities may influence higher education and the implications that this has for technical communication programs.

Sutcliffe will speak on raising funds for communication research and teaching, and will discuss how technical communication instructors and researchers can raise funds for curriculum innovation and research.

The Association of Teachers of Technical Writing was formed in 1973 to encourage dialogue among teachers of technical communication and to develop technical communication as an academic discipline. ATTW today has approximately 1,000 members and includes both graduate and undergraduate students of technical communication as well as professional technical communicators in business and industry.

At this year's conference Faber and Sutcliffe will be joined by professors across North America as they discuss this year's conference theme, "Inside and Out." The theme was designed to spark discussions and presentations on the ways technical communication programs are working together with industry and new economy companies.
