Estey Appointed Director Of The Shipley Center At Clarkson

The Shipley Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, housed in the School of Business, coordinates student-run consulting groups, leadership development activities, and executiveEstey education programs.

Estey, currently president of Triple E & Associates, LLC, a management consulting firm, has extensive experience in providing strategic leadership of teams to achieve improved results through work redesign and empowerment techniques.

We look forward to Stub's arrival and the innovation he will bring to the Shipley Center, said Tim Sugrue, dean of the School of Business. "Stub's 33 years of business experience, coupled with Clarkson's academic excellence, will elevate the Shipley Center's programming to a new level of excellence."

Estey held a number of leadership positions at AT&T in the course of a 30-year career with the company. In his recent consulting work, Estey's projects have included increasing organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, analyzing business policy options, and assessing executive candidates.

I look forward to playing a role in helping Clarkson achieve national prominence as an educational institution that improves leadership abilities for individuals and organizations.

Estey has never been far from the field of education. As director of AT&T's Northeastern Area "Fast Track" Program, he led leadership workshops for high-potential managers. He has taught at Clarkson University and the New York Institute of Technology, and was a part-time instructor at the University of Virginia and George Washington University. In addition, he has been a guest lecturer for an executive education program at INSEAD in France.

Estey holds two Clarkson degrees: a B.S. in engineering and an M.S. in management. His volunteer work includes experience on the executive board of the Institute of Management Consultants, the Board of Trustees of the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation, treasurer of the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church and president of Clarkson University's alumni association. He is a member of the Organization Development Network, the Federal Communications Bar Association and the Law Practice Management Section of the D.C. Bar Association. Estey is also a recipient of Clarkson's prestigious Golden Knight award, the highest level of recognition given to distinguished alumni for their accomplishments.

Estey and his wife Nancy currently reside in Washington, D.C., where Nancy works for the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Their daughter Kelley lives with her husband in Bangkok, Thailand, and their son Christopher is completing his doctorate in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia.
