U.S. News: Clarkson One Of Nation's Best Universities And Best Engineering Programs

Clarkson University is once again among the nation's Best National Universities and has one of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges 2002.

U.S. News listed Clarkson as one of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools whose highest degree is a Ph.D.

“Over the years Clarkson has consistently ranked among the top schools in this guide and others,” said Clarkson President Denny Brown, “but such surveys are just one measure of any institution’s quality.”

Brown points to three years of record enrollment and near 100 percent placement of graduates as key indicators of quality. “More students are choosing Clarkson because they recognize the value of the education we provide. Undergraduates have the opportunity to become involved in research, in team projects, or in internships or co-ops with our corporate partners. The rigorous curriculum and collaborative environment allows students to develop their talents to the fullest.”

In determining the Best Colleges, U.S. News categorized more than 1,300 accredited four-year institutions placing Clarkson in the category of 249 "National Universities – Doctoral." Within this elite category, Clarkson is placed in the top half.

Clarkson also recently received the 2001 Boeing Outstanding Educator Award, presented for innovation and excellence in undergraduate engineering education.

Clarkson University has more than 2,900 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and in its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program. Find out more about Clarkson at
