Three Clarkson Students Receive Scholarships From National Manufacturer

Three Clarkson University Chemical Engineering undergraduates were recently awarded scholarships totaling $4,500 by the National Starch and Chemical Company, a global specialty chemical manufacturer based in Bridgewater, N.J.

Sophomore Amanda Miller (Gillette, Wyo.) and juniors Andrew Grover (South Orleans, Mass.) and Cassandra Moulton (Panton, Vt.) were each awarded $1,500 for their outstanding scholastic achievement.

”The scholarships are well-deserved,” said Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering Richard J. McCluskey. “These students have impressive academic records and bright futures ahead of them.“

The National Starch and Chemical Company is a leading manufacturer of adhesives, specialty synthetic polymers, electronic and engineering materials, and specialty food, healthcare and industrial starches.

“The National Starch Company is a strong supporter of our students and our program,” added McCluskey. “The company has distributed scholarships to outstanding students at Clarkson for the past six years and actively recruits our graduates. The company also donates money to the Clarkson student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.”
