Alireza Ziarani Receives Tenure & Promotion to Associate Professor at Clarkson University

Clarkson University President Tony Collins has announced that Alireza K. Ziarani has been granted tenure and promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of electrical and computer engineering in the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering.aziarani

A native of Tehran, Iran, Ziarani received his bachelor's degree from Tehran Polytechnic University in 1995 and started his career as an R&D engineer. He obtained his master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He joined Clarkson's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2002.

He enjoys teaching a wide range of engineering courses on all levels. Ziarani's teaching excellence has been recognized by the University-wide Outstanding New Teacher Award, the Tau Beta Pi Faculty Award, as well as multiple undergraduate teaching recognitions by the School of Engineering. He has also been recognized for his advising by the Outstanding Advisor Award.

Ziarani and his wife, Sara, live in Potsdam.
