Bear Stearns Managing Director Elected Clarkson University Trustee

Clarkson University alumnus Jason Currie, managing director of Bear Stearns Asset Management, Toronto, has been elected to Clarkson's board of trustees. He will serve on the investment committee.

Jason received his bachelor of science degree in finance from Clarkson in 1994, and his master of business administration degree from Cornell University in 1997. J Currie elected to Board of Trustees

Based in Toronto, Jason works in the Private Funds Group of Bear Stearns with responsibility for placing fund interests with institutional investors across Canada and the eastern United States.

Currie was a goalie on Clarkson's Golden Knights hockey team from 1990-94, posting a 44-25-10 overall record, including four shutouts. A tremendous competitor, whose aggressive style earned him billing as one of the top netminders in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), he was a part of teams that saw Clarkson win two ECAC Tournament Championships, three NCAA Tournament showings, including a Frozen Four berth in 1991, and an ECAC Regular Season title. Currie was an ECAC All-Star and Academic All-American and a Hartford Whalers draft choice.

He resides in Etobicoke, Ontario, with his wife, Victoria, and two sons, Nicklaus and Jack.
