Hennessy Appointed Assistant Professor of Politics at Clarkson University

Alexandra Hennessy has been appointed assistant professor of comparative politics at Clarkson University. She began teaching this fall.Hennessy Appointed Assistant Professor of Politics at Clarkson University

Hennessy received her bachelor of arts and her master of arts degrees in social sciences from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. She received her Ph.D. in political science from Boston University.

Hennessy’s main research interests include corporate pension policies, European Union politics, and welfare-finance reforms in liberal and coordinated market economies.

Her research has taken her to Poland, Belgium, Germany, and Harvard. She has conducted research on the Polish Ministry of Labor and European Commission and Parliament and on European pension policies and markets. Thus far, she has authored three publications and has several works in progress.

Hennessy received a postdoctoral fellowship in 2007-2008 from the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies at the University of Rochester. She also received the Dean’s Award from Boston University in 2008.
