Clarkson University Professor Emeritus Petr Zuman Receives Wichterle Award

Clarkson University Distinguished Emeritus Research Professor Petr Zuman was honored with the Wichterle Award at the12th International Conference on Electroanalysis, organized by the Clarkson University Professor Emeritus Petr Zuman Receives Wichterle AwardEuropean Societies on Electroanalytical Chemistry, and held in June in Prague.

Zuman received the award for his contributions to the development of analytical and physical chemistry, as reflected by his publishing of 15 books and 440 papers in research journals. Zuman was also honorary president of the conference.

Zuman, whose research interests include organic electrochemistry, studies mechanisms of organic reactions using polarographic, voltammetric and kinetic measurements that contribute to a better understanding of biological activity.

Zuman, who joined Clarkson University’s Chemistry Department in 1970, was appointed emeritus professor in 1996 and continues to be active in the academic and research life of the University. He currently supervises both graduate and undergraduate students.

In addition to teaching and conducting research, Zuman has served on the editorial boards of the Microchemical Journal, Analytical Letter, the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and others.
