Supply Chain Management Program Ranked 14th in Nation

U.S. News & World Report’s "America’s Best Colleges 2011" has again placed Clarkson University in tier one, the top tier of national universities, with a ranking of 124.

Clarkson is #37 on the Great Schools, Great Prices, a list of 50 national universities ranked according to their quality to price ratio. In this short list, Clarkson educates the highest percentage of students who receive aid grants based on their financial need. The survey editors also placed Clarkson in the "A+ Options for B Students" list.

In the discipline rankings, its School of Business Supply Chain Management program is ranked 14th in the nation. Clarkson is among four private institutions ranked which also include MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The undergraduate engineering program is recognized as one of the "Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs" whose highest degree is a doctorate, with a ranking of 78.

"While rankings like US News are one measure of our competitive progress, we believe Clarkson University offers an educational experience that speaks for itself. Simply put, our graduates are in demand," said Clarkson University President Tony Collins. "Our inclusion as #37 on the Great Schools and the A+ Options lists reflects our history to make a Clarkson education affordable to all motivated students who want to bridge discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise. The American dream is alive and well at Clarkson."

Clarkson’s Supply Chain Management program, highly acclaimed by employers of Clarkson graduates, was listed among the 17 best in the nation for the ninth consecutive year, ranked number 14 in Supply Chain Management/Logistics.

Clarkson’s undergraduate engineering program, ranked at 78 for Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs whose highest degree is a doctorate, has also been consistently listed among the top in the nation.

Last year’s average starting salary for all Clarkson graduates was $51,420, and one in six alumni is already a CEO or senior executive.

Clarkson is in good company in the top tier undergraduate rankings as well as the Great Schools category, which it shares with schools like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Stanford, Cal Tech and Duke.

Each year U.S. News surveys more than 1,400 accredited four-year institutions for their annual "Best Colleges" issue. To be considered for the "National Universities" category, the institutions must offer a wide range of undergraduate majors as well as master’s and doctoral degrees, and also emphasize faculty research.

Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in six alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
