Free Small Business Training from Clarkson University Center for Entrepreneurship

The Center for Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University will again offer its free My Small Business 101 course beginning in February.

Since 2004, more than 450 area business owners have completed the course, experiencing both revenue and profit growth. A recent study showed an 85 percent survival rate for course alumni, which is considerably higher than the 51 percent national average.

The course is delivered in four weekly two-hour sessions and is open to existing businesses as well as startups.

Each week, Marc S. Compeau, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, focuses on a different topic, including thinking strategically, resource management, marketing management and financial management.

My Small Business 101 will be held on Sunday, February 13, 20, 27, and March 6 from 2-4 p.m. in Bertrand H. Snell Hall on Clarkson University’s hill campus.

The center also offers additional training, student interns, and one-on-one assistance to alumni of the course.

Those interested in attending should contact Erin Draper by Monday, February 7, at 315-268-3995 or . Space is limited and registration will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.
