Zhou Appointed Assistant Professor of Accounting at Clarkson University

Linying "Jolynn" Zhou has been appointed assistant professor of accounting at Clarkson University.

Linying She received her bachelor of science degree in statistics from the University of Science and Technology of China, her master of science degree in accounting from Northwest University, China, and her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Before coming to Clarkson, she was a teaching associate and teaching assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has teaching experience in auditing, accounting principles, accounting analysis, and professionalism in accounting.

Her research interests include executive compensation, corporate governance, capital structure, and financial reporting. Her dissertation was on agency costs, CEO compensation, and leasing activities. She is now working on “CEO social connectedness and pay-performance sensitivity.” Her main teaching interests are in financial and managerial accounting.

Among her academic honors, she received the Michael and Amy Bull Endowment Fund Scholarship in 2014, the Albert S. & Allee H. Lewie Scholarship in 2010, and the UT Arlington Graduate Stimulus Scholarship, 2009-2010.

Zhou is a member of the American Accounting Association, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
