Reh Center for Entrepreneurship Director of Operations Erin Draper said the main goal of Global Entrepreneurship Week is to drive connections and to celebrate and increase awareness of entrepreneurial activity. She said the week will bring together high school students, Clarkson students, alumni and local businesspeople to create an entrepreneurial spirit not only at Clarkson, but in the larger community.

"Global Entrepreneurship Week is a way for us to infuse entrepreneurship throughout campus and in the community to drive partnerships and conversations about entrepreneurship," she said. "We want to encourage the campus and regional community to take the next step in their entrepreneurial journeys."

Clarkson has invited alumni who have been successful in their fields back to campus for Global Entrepreneurship Week to share their experiences with other entrepreneurs. Draper said these opportunities to network with alumni allow entrepreneurs to see their own potential and receive mentorship on how to succeed in business.

"Last year at Global Entrepreneurship Week, we saw many students who were thinking about starting a business or who just had ideas," she said. "By participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week events they were able to move their ideas forward, make connections, and envision the next steps in the process."

Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and the health professions, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
