He serves as the captain of the Steel Bridge Team, which is part of Clarkson's Student Projects for Engineering Experience and Design (SPEED) program.

"The satisfaction I felt knowing that someone understands and respects the time and effort put into my studies is irreplaceable, and provides the motivation to achieve greater," Bohnert said. "A Ruston Paving Scholarship is more than a monetary value -- it's a step toward the future for an internship or the beginning of a career."

Lang Butler, vice president of Ruston Paving, said Bohnert stood out as an applicant for his direct interest in the paving industry and his hands-on internship experiences.

"Mr. Bohnert is the kind of candidate that represents our vision for our scholarship recipient," he said.

Ruston Paving, a commercial and industrial asphalt paving and site work contractor, supports the Construction Engineering Management program at Clarkson through financial and other means.  The professional concentration in Construction Engineering Management is available to civil engineering students to focus their electives on courses pertinent to the field of construction engineering management.
