David Appointed Assistant Professor of Biology at Clarkson University

Andrew A. David has been appointed assistant professor of biology at Clarkson University.

Andrew A. DavidHe received his bachelor of science degree in biology from St. Johns University and his master of science degree in biology from Hofstra University. He received his Ph.D. in zoology from Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

His major research interest is the development (including post larval development) of marine invertebrates.

David, a native of Trinidad and Tobago, who will be the director of freshman biology, has teaching and tutoring experience from Hofstra and Stellenbosch University.

This spring, he was a reviewer for Journal of Marine Environmental Research and for Cahiers Biologie de Marine. He has written on genetics and larval development for peer-reviewed journals, and has made numerous presentations at professional conferences.

David was awarded academic honors as an undergraduate, and various fellowships as a graduate student, including the International Society of Invertebrate Reproduction and Development Travel Award in 2013.

He is a member of the International Society of Invertebrate Reproduction and Development.
