Lisa Napolione Elected Clarkson University Trustee

Lisa A. Napolione '87 of Hoboken, N.J., senior vice president for global research & development at the Estee Lauder Companies in New York City, has been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees. She will serve on the external affairs and internal affairs committees.

Lisa A. NapolioneNapolione received her bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson in 1987.

Napolione is an innovation leader with global leadership experience across all research and development disciplines. In her position at Estee Lauder, she has responsibilities for seven laboratories around the world in North America, Europe and Asia.

Previously, she was the senior vice president and global head, research and development for Novartis Consumer Health. Napolione started a more-than-20-year career at Procter & Gamble immediately after graduation from Clarkson and held key positions in research and development managing laboratories for the company in Cincinnati, Ohio; London, England; Kobe, Japan; and Caracas, Venezuela.

Napolione was first elected to the Clarkson board of trustees in 2000 and served on the academic affairs, student affairs, and research committees, and as chair of the student affairs committee. She is a past member of Clarkson's Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering Advisory Board and, as a representative of her employers, she has been an executive liaison to Clarkson’s Career Center, providing opportunities for more than 100 graduates.

An active Clarkson admissions volunteer, Napolione has also been involved in STEM mentoring, is a Women in Technology sponsor, volunteers with multiple United Way campaign efforts and is a YWCA Rising Star.

A native of Olean, N.Y., Napolione resides in Hoboken with her husband, David Johnson.
