Clarkson University to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 16 to 20

Clarkson University's Reh Center for Entrepreneurship has partnered with Global Entrepreneurship Week for a third year to bring a series of entrepreneurial events to campus that is open to the community.

Idea JamClarkson will host 15 events from Monday, Nov. 16, to Friday, Nov. 20, including keynote speakers, panel discussions, luncheons, student pitches and the Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society induction.

Off-campus events include a pitch night and an entrepreneurs networking night at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, upstairs at Between the Buns in Potsdam, N.Y., a young entrepreneurs event at Malone Central School District, and several alumni events in New York City, Rochester, N.Y., and Patterson, N.J.

Hal Rosser ’71, a successful restaurateur, will share insights into his entrepreneurial journey and will be inducted into the Clarkson Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

The law firm of Hodgson Russ will sponsor events on Thursday, Nov. 19, including a working lunch discussion about intellectual property and individual meetings.

Reh Center for Entrepreneurship Director Erin Draper said Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates entrepreneurs in the community and increases awareness of entrepreneurial activity. The week will bring together Clarkson students, alumni and local businesspeople to create an entrepreneurial spirit at Clarkson and in the North Country.

"Global Entrepreneurship Week builds relationships between entrepreneurs throughout campus and in the community to drive partnerships and conversations about entrepreneurship," she said. "The series of events at Clarkson is designed to support and encourage entrepreneurs as they work toward their goals."
