Clarkson University Hosts Sports Camps Throughout Summer 2016

Clarkson University is hosting a variety of exciting sports camps throughout the summer for children and teens.

Hockey CampHead Hockey Coach Casey Jones and his NCAA Division I staff are offering hockey extended day camps for mite, squirt, peewee and bantam levels that include specialized goalie instruction, a focus on team concepts and additional lessons in skill development and strength and conditioning. The mite and squirt camps will be held from July 5 to 9, and the peewee and bantam camps will be held from July 11 to 15.

Students have the opportunity to work with Golden Knights Hockey Strength & Conditioning Coach Tad Johnson through strength training, speed development, conditioning and nutrition training to take themselves to the next level in hockey or any sport. This camp is for commuters only at various days and times from June 27 to Aug. 11.

A Clarkson Women's Volleyball Camp will be offered for extended day commuters and residents from July 28 to 31. This camp is a great opportunity for girls ages 10 to 18 to learn from Clarkson's championship volleyball team and Head Women's Volleyball Coach Carol LaMarche as they cover skills training, conditioning, one-on-one evaluations and more.

Children and teens ages 8 to 16 interested in the Clarkson Baseball Camp can register for a day camp with Head Men's Baseball Coach James Kane from 8 a.m. to noon from July 11 to 14. This camp focuses on all aspects of the game for all skill levels, and participants will benefit from small group and individual instruction and skill assessment in a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Head Women's Softball Coach Kristen McGaughey is leading two different clinic-style commuter camps to suit players of all levels. Offensive Camp is being offered Mondays and Wednesdays from June 13 to July 13 for girls entering grades three through 12. Defensive Camp is being offered Mondays and Wednesdays from July 18 to Aug. 10 for girls entering grades three through 12.

Aspiring college soccer players can sign up for the Men's Soccer ID Camp with SUNY Potsdam from July 23 to 24. Residential only, this camp provides players with high-level technical and tactical training sessions vital to succeeding at the next level, showcasing the culture and coaching styles of both the Clarkson and SUNY Potsdam soccer programs.
