Lauretta Chrys Elected Clarkson University Trustee

Lauretta M. Chrys of Lake George, N.Y., and Tampa, Fla., has been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees. She will serve on the audit and finance & budget committees.

Lauretta M. ChrysChrys received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York at Albany. She holds an MBA from Union College.

She is the executive vice president and head of strategic onboarding for the Consumer Banking Division at Citizens Bank, a subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group, one of the nation’s oldest and largest financial institutions.

Based in Albany, N.Y., Chrys provides strategic leadership to the management of the Consumer Banking 13,000 employee workforce through development and deployment of game-changing solutions to the onboarding of new employees. Chrys serves on Citizens Financial Group’s Executive Leadership Group, a team of key individuals who hold senior leadership roles within business lines.

During her 25-year banking career, Chrys has held diverse leadership positions in consumer banking, wealth management, small business banking, commercial and government banking treasury solutions.

Since 2004, Chrys held a number of senior positions with Citizens Bank, including director of retail banking in New York, and Mid-Atlantic states. As head of Premier Banking, she led the business expansion across Citizens’ 11-state footprint. Earlier in her career, she held key leadership positions with Key Bank in New York.

Chrys also serves as a trustee of Double H Ranch, co-founded by Paul Newman, where children with life-threatening illnesses get to experience the magic of camp, always free of charge. She is a former board president of Capital Repertory Theater, board secretary of the Albany Downtown Business Improvement District, board treasurer of WMHT Public Broadcasting, and board member and first woman chair of the Retail Banking Executive Committee of the New York Bankers Association.

Chrys resides in Lake George, N.Y., and Tampa, Fla., with her husband, Michael.
