Clarkson University Offers New Professional Development Seminars in Construction Engineering Management

New to Clarkson University this spring is a series of professional development seminars in Construction Engineering Management featuring topics related to the construction industry in the U.S. and North America.

Facilities WorkshopTop industry experts and alumni will speak weekly throughout the semester on a wide array of topics, from the future of transportation construction by Joe Pulicare '78 of Parsons Brinckerhoff, to a look into the complicated East Side Access project in Manhattan by Bill Thompson '62 of Urban Engineers.

This opportunity is coming as a part of the master's of engineering degree in civil & environmental engineering (ME-CEE) in construction engineering management (CEM) concentration and the master of science in engineering management (MSEM) with construction focus programs.

Students in the 15-week course can be joined by those seeking to learn more on particular topics presented each week.

"The individual classes were very interesting and informative… some of the best PE continuing education classes I have been to," said Bryant W. Bullard, professional engineer (PE), who is the general maintenance superintendent and licensing manager for the New York Power Authority at Massena, N.Y. "The classes have lots of good information on new technologies with actual field experience and no sales pitches for products or services."

Participants can sign up for one class session at a time or for a series of sessions. Each class costs $75 for those seeking credentialing documentation.
