New York Community Trust

Manager: Elizabeth Colello
Priority: Open

Established in 1924 in NY by resolution and declaration of trust.

The trust is the umbrella name for two organizations: The New York Community Trust, an unincorporated association of charitable trusts, and its corporate affiliate, Community Funds, Inc., a New York State not-for-profit corporation. Funds set up as trusts are invested by the banks selected by the donor from the foundation's list of trustees. Trust staff and the Finance Committee monitor investment performance. Funds set up in Community funds (including the Westchester Community Foundation and the Long Island Community Foundation) are invested in the investment pool, a diversified pool managed by managers selected for their expertise in an asset class, and in mutual funds, under the guidance of the trust's Finance and Investment Committees and staff.
