Required Text: Data Abstraction and Problem Solving with C++: Walls and Mirrors, by Carrano, Helman, Veroff, 2nd ed., Addison-Wesley, 1998.

Brief Description: This course is an introduction to data abstraction, data structures, algorithms, analysis of algorithms and the basic concepts of object-oriented programming. Programming will be done in C++.

Grading:

  • Homework assignments 25%
  • Two tests 35%
  • Final Exam 40%
Assignments will include both written and programming exercises. The assignment policy for the course will be stated on the first assignment. Tentative dates for the tests: February 25 and April 8.
