The New York Times
: Clarkson Gives Students a Better Opportunity for Prosperity
Higher education plays a central role in increasing the ability of low-income individuals to move up
the economic ladder.
According to a new study published by
The New York Times
, 53 percent of Clarkson students who
come from families in the bottom fifth of incomes moved to the top 20 percent of incomes as adults.
That places Clarkson ninth out of 578 selective private colleges for this measure.
Clarkson students also had the second highest median income at age 34 out of the 578 colleges.
