Honors Advising

In this Section

Honors students enjoy dedicated academic, professional and personal advising that is designed to complement advising in the major departments and career counseling in student services.  We can help you with your course selections, but we are not here just to tell you what class you have to take: we assist you in your discovery of institutional knowledge, self-awareness, and decision-making skills necessary to make your own informed decisions as you pursue your educational, career, and personal goals.

Our advising is developmental.  There are both individual and group mandatory meetings every semester at which students present assignments, such as a resume and short essay reflecting on personal and professional development.  In our meetings, we focus on personal and professional development, guiding students in the development of a portfolio of experiences and documents that will aid them in applications for employment, graduate school and scholarships.

For more information about advising, our advising contract, and the schedule of advising activities through the four years of the Honors Program please see our Advising Curriculum.
