Orientation for First-Year Students

In this Section

We can't wait to welcome the Honors Program Class of 2021 to campus!

All first-year Honors Program students are required to arrive on campus to move in on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  Please note that this is earlier than move-in for other first-year students. All Honors Program students are required to participate in Honors Program Orientation.  Beginning on Tuesday, August 22, students are kept quite busy with Orientation activities to familiarize them with campus, introduce them to one another, and get excited for the academic year to come!

The Fall 2017 Honors Program Orientation Schedule can be found here.

After First-Year Honors students move-in, Orientation begins with sessions every day, including a unique Orientation trip for Honors First-Year students and Clarkson School students to Camp Oswegatchie in the Adirondacks.  When students return from that trip, they jump into the all-University Orientation programming and prepare for the start of classes.  Honors Orientation is required for incoming first-year students, as is participation in the Orientation trip to Camp Oswegatchie.  Because of the internal Honors Orientation trip, incoming first-year Honors students are not able to participate in other University-sponsored pre-Orientation trips.

First-Year Honors Orientation information is sent out to students via email in the summer months leading up to their move-in date.
