Pre-Arrival Checklist

Pre-Arrival Checklist

  • Review your admission acceptance information for important student related ‘to-do’s – or – log into your PeopleSoft account for this information

  • Check out our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ for new International Students

  • Take a virtual tour of campus – upon arrival we will provide a walking tour so you can find where you classes are

  • Get familiar with ways to get involved – shortly after arrival CU will host an ‘Activities Fair’ where all student organizations and clubs will be on display for you to check out and join

  • Make sure you can log into your CU accounts – PeopleSoft – Email – CU&ME

  • Fill out and submit your Arrival Form to the International Center

Visa Tips

  • Pay any necessary visa or SEVIS fees

  • Apply for your visa by visiting your local U.S. consulate or embassy

Housing

  • Undergraduate & Exchange students will live on campus. Be sure to complete your housing contract and stay tuned for communications to see your housing assignments

  • Graduate students – plan ahead to make arrangements to live nearby to campus. Your graduate program will provide you housing information or you may wish to connect with other students in your graduate program or international student organizations

Academics

  • All students will be assigned an academic adviser – log into your PeopleSoft account to find out who your adviser is.

  • Course enrollment -

    • Undergraduate students will have courses assigned by your acadeic adviser. You can log into PeopleSoft to view your schedule and this is typically available about a month prior to the start of classes. Please contact your academic adviser with any questions or concerns.
    • Graduate students will typically meet with either your academic advisor or the chair of the graduate committee for your program upon arrival to determine your academic plan. You will enroll in classes during the orientation days.
