Financial Documentation

International Students must supply reliable financial documentation for Clarkson University to ensure adequate financial resources are available to meet the estimated expenses for your program at CU for one year.

Funds may come from any dependable source shown below and can be scanned/emailed to your admission counselor/coordinator or directly to the office of International Student & Scholar Services (cuisso@clarkson.edu)

Funding Notes–

  • Bank statements carry no liability to the bank.

  • All documents must be dated within one year of initial enrollment and translated into U.S. dollars

  • This information is required for visa eligibility

  • Clarkson University reserves the right to require additional financial documentation as necessary

  • Note: Real estate holdings – salary verification letters – retirement funds – stocks/bonds – life insurance policies are will not be accepted.

Types of Funding

Required Documentation

Personal Savings

Official letter or statement – Documentation from bank on bank letterhead indicating the account holder name – account number – and funds available to support your education at Clarkson University.

NOTE – bank statements are acceptable ifthey are provided in ENGLISH.

Sponsor (i.e. parents – relative -friend)  Note: This person is to complete the sponsor statement below

Official letter or statement – signed and dated – from your sponsor’s bank or financial institution indicating a current balance to cover the funds needed (as shown above). Funds must be in the form of liquid assets, i.e. cash or assets that can easily be converted into cash (checking or savings accounts).

Clarkson Financial Aid/Scholarship

A copy the financial aid award letter

Government/Company

Official letterindicating amount of support. Letter must include full name – amount of money available for each year of study – duration of the award – and – institution to which award is applicable.

Other scholarships or student loans

Official letter indicating amount of support. Letter must include full name – amount of money available for each year of study – duration of the award/loan – and – institution to which award is applicable.
