Five To Receive Honorary Degrees And Address Clarkson University Graduates Sunday

Clarkson University students will be granted bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at commencement ceremonies this Sunday, May 13. The weekend will also be marked by the commissioning of United States Army and Air Force officers on Saturday, May 12.

Receiving honorary degrees and addressing the students will be:

Watertown Daily Times Editor and Co-publisher John B. Johnson Jr.

Dean Kamen, president of DEKA Research & Development Corporation

New York State Court of Appeals Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye

Retired Xerox Corporation Senior Vice President Alan R. Monahan

Retired Dresser Rand Division President John S. Welch Jr.

During the ceremony, two faculty members will be honored with the John W. Graham Jr. Faculty Research Award and the Clarkson University Distinguished Teaching Award.

Also, the Levinus Clarkson Award and the Frederica Clarkson Award will be bestowed by vote of the full faculty upon two students who demonstrate the best combination of scholarship and promise of outstanding professional achievement.
