Clarkson University Theatre Company to Present An Experiment with An Air Pump

The Clarkson University Theatre Company will present Shelagh Stephenson’s An Experiment with An Air Pump, Thursday-Saturday, April 9-11 in Clarkson University’s downtown Sara M. Snell Theatre.

Curtain time is at 8 p.m. for all evening performances, and 2 p.m. for the Saturday matinee. General admission tickets are $8, with $1 off all advance sales and are available at the Cheel Campus Center Information Desk. Discounted tickets are available for students and seniors.

Straddling two different ages of enlightenment, An Experiment with an Air Pump follows the attempts of two eminent scientists, 200 years apart, trying to solve a murder mystery that will have profound implications for the development of western thought.

Even as scientific inquiry illuminates the mysteries of the past, new questions arise; the ethical responsibilities of scientists, the role of women in science, and the continuing importance of philosophy are all called to account.
