The event is free and open to the public.

Kennedy is Chief of the Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Bureau.

The Bureau enforces state and federal environmental laws, defends state agencies when sued on environmental matters, and recovers the costs incurred in State hazardous waste cleanups. Recent initiatives include legal action to slow global warming, reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants, clean up contaminated sites, and improve water quality and protect the Great Lakes.

Kennedy worked previously for 18 years at the Natural Resources Defense Council, where she was a senior attorney and director of the Northeast Energy Project. She has worked on a range of issues, including clean energy, water and air pollution and land use issues. She is currently a visiting lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and has taught as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law.

She received a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986 and a B.A. from Harvard College in 1982. She clerked for the Honorable Morris E. Lasker in the Southern District of New York.
