Clarkson University’s Eugene Fodor to Be Named Professor Emeritus

Psychology Professor Eugene M. Fodor will be named professor emeritus at Clarkson University’s 117th Commencement on Saturday, May 8. Fodor is being honored for 41 years of exemplary service to the University.Clarkson University’s Eugene Fodor to Be Named Professor Emeritus

Fodor has contributed important research in the field of human motivation, especially power motivation, and aspects of schizophrenia and bipolar behavior. His research has resulted in more than 30 published peer-reviewed articles and many conference presentations and papers.

Between 1983 and 1990 he served as chair of the Department of Psychology and as chair of the Faculty Senate for four years.

Fodor taught courses in group dynamics, human motivation, abnormal psychology and creativity, among others. He was honored by students as a recipient of the Outstanding Advisor Award and by alumni and fellow faculty with the Distinguished Teaching Award.

Fodor is also held in high esteem in the professional community. He served on the editorial board of The Leadership Quarterly and was a reviewer for the National Science Foundation. He has also reviewed for nine professional journals
