Wojtkiewicz Appointed Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University

Steven WojtkiewiczSteven Wojtkiewicz has been appointed associate professor of civil & environmental engineering at Clarkson University.

He received his bachelor of science, master of science, and Ph.D. degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Before coming to Clarkson, Wojtkiewicz was a research associate and assistant professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis, and a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he previously was a research assistant professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.

His research is focused on the uncertainty quantification, control, and identification of civil infrastructure structural dynamical systems.

Wojtkiewicz has been awarded major funding for his projects from the National Science Foundation, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and the University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and technical papers. He has made presentations at numerous national and international conferences over the past 18 years. He has also organized and helped organize international conferences, workshops, and symposia, including co-chairing the inaugural 2008 ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference.

His recent honors and awards include the University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies Faculty Scholar; Minnesota Young Engineer of the Year, Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science, and Technology Societies; Young Engineer of the Year, ASCE Minnesota Section; Sandia Excellence Award; and the Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering University Fellowship.

Wojtkiewicz is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and United States Association for Computational Mechanics.
