University Bookstore of Clarkson University Celebrates Dr. Seuss's Birthday with Reading Event March 7

Clarkson University's University Bookstore is hosting a Read Across America event on Saturday, March 7, in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday.

University Bookstore of Clarkson University will host a Read Across American event on Saturday, March 7, in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday.The University Bookstore will promote reading and reading motivation in children with a series of fun activities throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its 39 Market St. store in Potsdam, N.Y.

Readings of some of Dr. Seuss's most beloved stories will begin at 2:30 p.m., including The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh, the Places You'll Go!, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2015. Clarkson Senior Vice President and Provost Chuck Thorpe and Assistant Professor of Literature Michael Garcia will be among the guest readers.

The event also features activity packets, craft and coloring activities, and a sweepstakes for a Dr. Seuss prize pack valued at $50 to be announced at 4 p.m.

The North Country Children's Museum Event will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the bookstore as usual.
