Grant Named VP for Enrollment & Student Advancement at Clarkson University

Brian Grant has been named vice president for enrollment & student advancement at Clarkson University.

Brian Grant In this new role, he will provide leadership to both Admissions & Student Affairs. Grant has been charged with engaging the entire Clarkson community -- especially the academic, student affairs, and admissions areas -- to optimize the synergies between the three areas and continue to move student engagement toward best in class.

"Brian's passion for Clarkson is evidenced in his everyday life and he is at his best when sharing that passion with others by engaging them with Clarkson," said Clarkson President Tony Collins. "His Clarkson ties and the ability to play a significant role at the institution that helped shape his life has always been a great source of pride for him. We thank Brian for stepping up to this new role."

Grant has a great breadth of experience in admissions, student engagement, financial management and service excellence. A 22-year veteran of undergraduate recruiting, he served as dean of admission from 2009 to 2016.

He had the unique opportunity to play a leadership role in building a successful admission program that increased applications 90 percent in the freshman, transfer and international student admission programs in six years.

Grant joined Clarkson in 1994 and has since held positions of increasing responsibility, including assistant director of admission and alumni admission coordinator, director of enrollment operations and director of admission.

He received his bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary engineering & management from Clarkson and his master of science in instructional technology from SUNY Potsdam.

As announced in February, in line with the Clarkson@125 strategic plan, Kathryn Johnson, former vice president for university outreach and student affairs, has transitioned into a new role as vice president for international relations to develop and implement a plan to expand Clarkson's global reach and reputation.
