Clarkson Inn Receives Potsdam Chamber of Commerce Pride in Potsdam Award

The Clarkson Inn has received the Pride in Potsdam award from the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to the community.

Pride in PotsdamThe hotel was honored for its ongoing dedication to enhancing Potsdam, N.Y., both visually and through its support of community organizations.

George Lavigne, manager of the Clarkson Inn, was presented with the award during the annual Potsdam Chamber of Commerce dinner this fall.

In presenting the award, the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce recognized the Clarkson Inn for its record of customer service excellence. The hotel has previously earned St. Lawrence County Chamber's "Best to the Guest" Tourism Excellence Award in 2016 and the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for four years in a row.

The Clarkson Inn also gives back to the community through involvements with several local organizations. They donate furnishings and linens to Helping Hands of Potsdam during renovations, they donate to Canton-Potsdam Hospital Guild and the Community Performance Series, and they offer the hotel lobby to the annual hospice tree lighting event every December.

The Clarkson Inn, located at 1 Main St. in Potsdam, is operated by J.R. Weston Inc., a for-profit, tax-paying subsidiary of Clarkson University. Profits from J.R. Weston provide scholarships to Clarkson students.
