Steven Pedersen Receives Tenure & Promotion to Associate Professor at Clarkson University

Clarkson University President Tony Collins has announced that Steven Mygind Pedersen has been granted tenure and promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of communication and media in the School of Arts & Sciences.

Steven Mygind PedersenAs an artist and scholar, Pedersen’s work weaves together a wide range of media and working processes that explore the creative possibilities and philosophical implications of emerging digital technologies. His primary areas of interest include time-based media, interactivity and digital imaging.

He teaches in Clarkson’s innovative Digital Arts and Sciences program, which offers a unique combination of artistic experimentation with technical rigor.

Pedersen has exhibited his artworks nationally and internationally, including venues in New York City, Chicago, London, Berlin, Beijing, and Kuala Lumpur.

Before coming to Clarkson, Pedersen was a professor of art at Ball State University and a research associate in the Institute for Electronic Arts at Alfred University.

Pedersen received his bachelor of arts with honors in fine art and contemporary critical theory from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and his master of fine arts in electronic integrated arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He was also a guest student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen during a two-year study period.
