Accommodations Requiring Accessible Materials

In this Section

If you have a student who uses assistive technology to access course materials, readings, textbooks or exams, the Assistant Director will request a meeting to make sure your materials are accessible to assistive technology.

Some common adjustments to ensure accessibility include:
  • Providing digital copies of handouts used in class
  • Providing a digital copy of an exam in an accessible format (e.g. Microsoft Word)
  • Providing digital copies of reading assignments outside of course textbooks
  • Providing a digital copy of the syllabus
  • Setting deadlines far in advance so that materials can be converted to accessible formats if needed

OAS staff will work with you individually to ensure all aspects of your course are accessible to all students.
