Burlington Trip: The two-day sustainability trip included a tour of the McNeil wood gasification plant and presentation from the chief forester Bill Kropelin about sustainable forestry; a tour of the Intervale Composting Facility, a tour of the Ben and Jerry's factory and wastewater treatment plant with plant manager Randy Thompson, and a tour of the University of Vermont Davis Center (LEED® Gold certified building).


Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream continues to improve decisions made that impact the environment; they are always looking for innovative solutions to reduce waste that is inevitable with manufacturing.
